Management Team

Overall responsibility for the smooth running of The Surgery with special interests in Financial Management, Premises & Maintenance, PCT Liaison, Legal Matters & Compliance, IT.
Ruth Smith-Canham BA (hons), ISP – Practice Manager
Working closely with the Practice Director, with special interests in Reception & Appointment Management, Dispensary Management, Health & Safety, Training & Development, Patient Liaison & Complaints, Recruitment & IT.
Christine Buxton – Assistant Practice Manager
Reporting directly to the Practice Director, responsible for all Accounts Management and Data Reporting & Analysis.
Dispensary Team
The Dispensary is based at the Old School Surgery, Kibworth and is lead by Partner Dr R White. Our team comprises of three trained Dispensers, Kelly Humphrey, & Jessica Holyoak. The Dispensers are assisted by Jacqui Louca who is currently training towards her NVQ Level 2 in Dispensing.
The Dispensary is open from 8.00 am until 5.30 pm, Monday – Friday (except Bank Holidays and other national holidays).
We currently dispense to over 2000 patients in the surrounding villages but also provide for your convenience a range of competitively priced items such as travel kits & stockings and dossett boxes, etc, which are available for purchase by all patients and can be collected along with your medication if you are a village patient.

Receptionist & Secretarial Team
Receptionist
The team is lead by two Senior Receptionists, Wendy Lyon and Elaine Tarr who have over 25 years experience between them dealing with the day to day smooth running of the Reception.
Across the three surgeries we have a team of Receptionists who are specifically trained to deal with your enquiries. It can be very helpful if you can give a brief description to one of receptionists of your problem so we can ensure you are seen by the most appropriate person.
Medical Secretaries
We have a very busy team of three highly trained medical secretaries based at The Old School Surgery, Kibworth and The Two Shires Surgery, Market Harborough. They are responsible for preparing thousands of referrals to secondary care, expediting reports, requesting medical notes, arranging private referrals and a plethora of other daily tasks placed upon them by the Management Team. The Nursing Team & Healthcare Assistants
Practice Nurses
The Practice Nurses are fully trained in a broad spectrum of clinical care and provide the following services to our patients;
Dressing & Wound Care: Treatment of Minor Illnesses: Cervical Smears: Vaccinations: Travel Advice & Vaccinations: Contraception Advice & Pill Checks: Ear Syringing: INR Test & Dosing: Medication Reviews; Cryotherapy to Warts & Verrucas, Menopausal Care; HGV & Taxi Medicals; Smoking Cessation.
Our Practice Nurses have also had specific training to care for patients with heart disease, diabetes, and asthma.
Healthcare Assistants
We employ two Healthcare Assistants who play a vital role assisting our experienced Nursing Team. They are able to provide the following services:
Blood Tests; New Patient Screening; ECGs; Blood Pressures; Urine Analysis; 24 hour Blood Pressure Monitors
Should you wish to see one of our Practice Nurses, appointments are available between 8.15am - 12pm and 2pm – 4.30pm Monday to Friday.

Community Matron
We are very pleased to have Lynne Emmingham (Bsc (hons), RGN, DN, Independent Prescriber) working with us as Community Matron at Dr Kilpatrick & Partners, The Country Practice. Lynne is a highly experienced Matron who is available to visit our most vulnerable chronically ill elderly patients who are unable to come into the surgery. Lynne is a nurse prescriber and works very closely with the doctors, practice based nurses and the community healthcare team.
The Primary Healthcare Team
Dr Kilpatrick & Partners, Country Practice is part of the Leicestershire County and Rutland PCT (insert link to their website).
In addition to the staff we directly employ, the Practice is supported by medical professionals employed by the PCT to work within our Surgery and/or local community as listed below.
Counsellor
We offer a counselling service at The Old School Surgery, Kibworth and Two Shires, Market Harborough. Please talk to your doctor if you feel you would benefit from her help.
Health Visitor
Jacqui Cooper & Penny Ely regularly hold well baby clinics and childhood immunisations at all our surgeries.

Midwives
Attached to our Practice are two midwives who run clinics at
Two Shires Surgery, Market Harborough Tuesday 2.00 pm – 3.00 pm (?)
The Old School Surgery Wednesday 1.30 pm – 4.00 pm (?)
Fleckney Surgery, Fleckney Thursday 2.00 pm – 3.00 pm (?)
Midwives also undertake domiciliary visits.
The midwives are employed directly by Leicestershire County and Rutland PCT as part of the Market Harborough Community Midwifery Team and can be contacted either via one of our Surgeries listed above or directly by leaving a message on 01858 438142.
District Nurses
Your District Nurses are based at Kibworth Health Centre and can be contacted on 0300 300 0027 or you can contact one of our three Surgeries, at Market Harborough, Kibworth & Fleckney.
The District Nurses will visit patients who have been discharged by the hospital and those who are temporarily or permanently housebound.
Please note: District Nurses organise their own timetables and work independently from Dr Kilpatrick & Partners.
